Do I need to be referred by my General Practioner?
No the Osteopath will take a full case history and is a highly trained diagnostician. You will be examined, if necessary further investigations such as X-rays are requested. If the osteopath feels treatment is inappropriate they will refer you to your G.P.

Are there age limits?
No. Ostepaths treat from the new born to the elderly. Treatment is tailored to individual needs.

How long do consultations last?
Consultations and treatment normally last half an hour.

Will I need to take my clothes off?
To be examined properly you will usually be asked to undress to your underwear, so that the ostepath can observe how your spine moves and how it relates to the rest of your body. After that it depends where the problem is, you may well be able to keep some of your clothes on. If you feel embarrassed, discuss this with the osteopath and they will ensure that you can wear something you fell comfortable in.
