I need to be referred by my General Practioner? |

| No the Osteopath
will take a full case history and is a highly trained diagnostician. You
will be examined, if necessary further investigations such as X-rays are
requested. If the osteopath feels treatment is inappropriate they will refer
you to your G.P. |

| Are
there age limits? |
|
| No. Ostepaths treat
from the new born to the elderly. Treatment is tailored to individual needs. |

| How
long do consultations last? |

| Consultations and
treatment normally last half an hour. |

| Will
I need to take my clothes off? |
|
| To be examined properly
you will usually be asked to undress to your underwear, so that the ostepath
can observe how your spine moves and how it relates to the rest of your
body. After that it depends where the problem is, you may well be able to
keep some of your clothes on. If you feel embarrassed, discuss this with
the osteopath and they will ensure that you can wear something you fell
comfortable in. |

| Are
ostepaths recognised? |

| Ostepathy has been
practiced in the U.K. for over 100 years. Since the Osteopaths Act of 1993
the profession has had the same recognition as medicine and dentistry. |
